Our Name:

• In the name AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL MAGIC, LLC the word AMERICAN refers to where our  headquarters is located, the word INDUSTRIAL refers to the heavy duty version  of the work we do, and the word MAGIC refers to the high technology we deal with as in  the famous quote by Arthur C. Clarke: "Any sufficiently advanced technology  is indistinguishable from magic."

Our Mission:

• The mission of AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL MAGIC, LLC is to bring the talents of individual people together to solve the world's problems - one at a time. We are committed to the idea that ordinary people can rise to the challenge and are capable of extraordinary achievements when given the chance to do so. AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL MAGIC, LLC is committed to giving people the chance to make a difference.

Who we are:

• AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL MAGIC, LLC, is an all-volunteer organization of scientists, engineers, and support staff headed by Marine Engineer Paul Grayson.
       Currently members of our team are spread over three continents and fifteen time zones. Headquarters and final assembly workshop are in Traverse City, MI with a branch office in Los Angeles, CA.  The team members at their various locations are conducting testing of software, components, and strategies.
  Our team is constantly changing as new people join and old team members go on to other things. The average number of people at any one time claiming team membership is about 60. Some team members have been with the team for five years.  Others have just recently joined or are considering joining.  Contributions of Manpower vary from the minimum of two hour a week to in some cases over 46 hours a week.  As volunteers this work is in addition to the time they put in at their regular job to support their family.  Contributions of Money and Materials have been equally varied.  Our team members are contributing because they see our project as a way we can make a difference.
       Join our team and get to work on making our team successful.  Team members are tired at the end of their shift, but feel very good about what we are doing and what they have accomplished. It's fun and it's for a good cause.

What we are doing:

• As we work on designing and building the autopilot needed to win the DARPA Urban Challenge we have discovered that much of what we are creating are Active Safety Systems that the kids are calling "Guardian Angel Systems".  They want us to put a Guardian Angel into every car, bus, and truck on US highways protect them and the people they love.  With your help we can do that.
